Chaperone Training for Band Events and Trips 2014


All Band Parents helping with Assessments, Adjudications or any Band Trip must complete this training.

To register as a trained chaperone/volunteer at GMS, please download and view the Chaperone/Volunteer Training PowerPoint attached to the bottom of the linked GMS Student Service page. You will then need to complete the Google form at the end of the slideshow.

*If you have completed the training at another school this year or if you are a Howard County Public School System employee, we still need you to complete the Google form at the end of the PowerPoint to be registered as a trained chaperone/volunteer at GMS.

Wind Ensemble Assessment 2014 - Up Date

The Wind Ensemble wil participate in the Howard County Middle School Band Assessments at Hammond High School on Friday, March 21, 2014.

In order to accommodate our band students  who are participating in the GMS Midnight Madness Basketball event our schedule for the Band Assessment is now as follows:


  • 3:00    Warm-up
  • 3:30    Performance (on stage) all are invited to watch
  • 4:00    Sight reading


We should be back at GMS by 5:30.  All students that need to leave for early Midnight Madness games, may leave Hammond HS. immediately after our sight reading performance and will be allowed to be transported back to Glenwood by their parents.
